It's
not just our opinion that Northern Colorado offers a wonderful
place to live, but several independent authorities agree with us. Sperling's
Best Places has just rated Fort Collins /
Loveland as having the fourth best thriving economy in the United
States, and Greeley was ranked 15th. The criteria for this ranking
included tax rates, unemployment rate, job growth, cost of living
index, state fiscal health, median price for a single-family home,
home price appreciation, property tax rate, cost of utilities,
and housing starts.
A Cleveland-based
financial holding company and economic research group, National
City Corporation, found that Fort Collins homes are undervalued
by 2 percent in a 2005 study. Researchers measured home prices
against economic fundamentals to help them determine the prices
of homes. The study found that to the contrary, Denver homes were
overvalued by 14 percent.
The
American Association of Retired
Persons' magazine (issue May/June
2003)
described Loveland as number one of "The
15 Best Places to Reinvent Your Life."
U.S. Art Magazine
placed Loveland among the top eight "Great
Art Destinations" in the United States.
