Loveland,
Colorado
Loveland
enjoys the luxury of having a small-town feel with big city arts.
As one of the top five best places to live in America, according
to a national art magazine, Loveland sports sculptures throughout
its
community
from
artists from all over the world. In addition to the arts, Loveland
satisfies the athlete in all of us. It has biking and walking trails,
as well as some good hiking trails. In addition, softball is very
popular with girls and boys, and women and men of all ages.
Sitting
at the foot of the Rockies, Loveland is central to entering the Rocky
Mountain National Park as well as to all the major Northern
Colorado communities, including Fort Collins, Berthoud, Windsor,
Greeley/Evans,
Johnstown / Milliken, Wellington, and Longmont.
Throughout
our site are various photos of sculptures -- many of them taken
at the Benson
Sculpture Garden. This park in Northwest Loveland
is the site of the annual Sculpture
in the Park. This invitational
art show draws international artists and art enthusiasts from throughout
the country every August. If you are in-town that weekend (see
the link to the website above for exact dates), I hope you will
join us for a great weekend!
If professional
sports are one of your favorite pasttimes, then you'll enjoy the
semi-professional men's hockey team, housed in Loveland's Budweiser
Event Center -- The Colorado
Eagles. In addition, the Colorado
Chill, a semi-professional women's basketball team playing
in the National Women's Basketball League, also calls Loveland
home, playing at the same venue. In addition to sports, many top-named
recording artists host concerts at the Event Center.
In
addition to the professional sports, with so many university surrounding
Loveland, the sports enthusiast will not lack for sports teams
to support -- University of Northern Colorado Bears in Greeley
(20 minutes away), Colorado State University Rams in Fort Collins
(15 minutes away), and Colorado University
Buffaloes in Boulder (30 minutes away).
Just
as Loveland has been working on the diversity of art and recreational
activities provided for its citizens, Loveland is also working
on promoting a diversity in its community of people. Loveland welcomes
people of all religions, nationalities, sexual orientations, races,
and gender.
According
to Worldwide ERC (provides education and networking opportunities
to people who help families relocate) and Primary Relocation (helps
companies and their employees relocate), Loveland / Fort Collins
ranked 8th out of the top 50 medium-sized metro areas to
live in the country. The companies considered cost of living, taxes,
schools, climate, commute
times, and other family needs when putting together their ranking.
This ranking was provided in June 2006.
