Fort Collins, Colorado

The home of Colorado State University, Fort Collins offers a thriving college community with an abundance of things to do and places to eat.

Recently, a Cleveland-based financial holding company and economic research group, National City Corporation, found that Fort Collins homes are undervalued by 2 percent in a 2005 study. Researchers measured home prices against economic fundamentals to help them determine the prices of homes. The study found that to the contrary, Denver homes were overvalued by 14 percent.

In addition, according to Worldwide ERC (provides education and networking opportunities to people who help families relocate) and Primary Relocation (helps companies and their employees relocate), Fort Collins / Loveland ranked 8th out of the top 50 medium-sized metro areas to live in the country. The companies considered cost of living, taxes, schools, climate, commute times, and other family needs when putting together their ranking. This ranking was published in June 2006.

And, if safe driving is a concern . . . Fort Collins drivers ranked 2nd out of America's 200 largest cities in a safe-driver survey over a two-year period by Allstate Insurance Company. This was according to a study published in the Rocky Mountain News in June 2006.
